Jalaine Stanton has served as the Executive Director of Northeastern Nevada SAFE since 2016. Northeastern Nevada SAFE is a non-profit organization that strives to safeguard individuals who are under guardianship and have been subjected to physical/mental abuse and financial exploitation. Additionally, she is the Director of Development at the Nevada Institute of Forensic Nursing, where she is responsible for ensuring the expansion of aid for sexual and violent assault survivors of all ages.
Apart from her work at SAFE & NVIFN, Jalaine runs a successful business. Her company works with non-profit organizations and other entities across various sectors throughout the United States to help them receive funding, learn about grant management, and achieve true sustainability.
Jalaine's unique perspective stems from her passion for social impact, extensive funding knowledge, and vast life experience.
Jalaine values the life she has with her husband and two daughters. Her family remains the foundation for her to continue working to make the world a better place.
Kathleen Jones has served as the Public Guardian of Elko County for the past 22 years. Recently, she was reappointed by the Elko County Commissioners for another four years to continue this work.
Kathleen is also the current Supervisor of Elko County Social Services. She is a trusted member of the State of Nevada's Vulnerable Adult Fatality Review Committee and has been a National Certified Guardian by the Center for Guardianship Certification since 2004.
Kathleen played a significant role in passing SB61 through the 2023 Nevada Legislature to support the rights of Elders. She is dedicated to helping individuals who suffer from cognitive disabilities and aging. Additionally, she strives to raise awareness of Elder/Vulnerable abuse and exploitation while ensuring all individuals receive the quality of life they deserve.
In her free time, Kathleen enjoys the outdoors with her husband and friends. She loves to garden, bike, fish and travel.
Georgia graduated from college with a degree in legal studies. She worked tirelessly for 34 years, dedicating 26 years to serving various district attorney offices and eight years to private attorneys. Georgia's background in legal work is instrumental to her role as treasurer of Elevate Change, as it equips her with the necessary skills to manage the organization's financial affairs.
In 1992, Georgia was instrumental in drafting, implementing, and administering the Lander County Code for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault (LCC Chapter 8.24, previously 6.40). Her exceptional knowledge, expertise, and dedication were critical to the program's success, which provided vital support to victims of sexual assault.
Georgia has served on the Battle Mountain Youth Football and Battle Mountain Preschool boards, demonstrating her commitment to helping children and young people.
Georgia enjoys working on craft projects, tending to her yard, and traveling to spend time with family and friends.
Brea graduated from law school in 2018 and moved to Nevada soon after. She passed the Nevada bar exam the same year and has been practicing law ever since. She started her legal career at the Elko County District Attorney's office, working as a prosecutor for a few years before transitioning to the public defender's office. Brea finds it rewarding to help people navigate the justice system and protect their legal rights.
Having worked in the criminal justice system for years, Brea has a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities faced by individuals who find themselves entangled in the legal system. Furthermore, Brea's passion for helping people is evident in her legal work; she brings this same drive to her board responsibilities. Brea's expertise and dedication make her a valuable asset to the Elevate Change Board.
While Brea is passionate about her work, her family always comes first. She and her husband are proud parents of two children. Together, they enjoy parenting and sharing their love of sports and the outdoors with their kids.
Sean Stanton has had an exceptional 20-year career in education and administration, and his expertise with youth is undeniable. He has worked in an administrative role for over a decade, giving him an in-depth understanding of our younger community members' unique needs and the devoted staff teaching them.
His knowledge of management, communication, and curriculum has been invaluable to the Elevate Change board. Sean understands the challenges that young people face in today's world, and his insights have been instrumental in developing changes that promote the welfare of our youth in Nevada. Sean's exceptional leadership skills, coupled with his experience in education, make him an asset to any organization that values the well-being and success of our youth.
Besides his career, Sean is a devoted family man who cherishes spending quality time with his wife and children. He understands the importance of a healthy work-life balance and strives to be present for his family whenever possible.
